Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The aim of this paper is to classify certain types of weather developments that arise in the region east of the Rocky Mountains in Southern Canada, Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado, and to correlate their frequency and intensity with various factors which seem most important in their development. After discussing briefly the importance of the Rocky Mountain chain as an air mass boundary, synoptic situations most favorable for fronto- and cyclogenesis are illustrated. The variation of these favorable situations with season is then compared with the frequency of occurrence of the several types of developments which they produce. The dates of initial eastward movement of secondary cyclone developments are correlated with dates of peaks in 14,000-foot pressure over the region. The influence of such wave developments on the buildup and dissipation of the Polar Canadian (Pc) high is studied. Finally, a table of departure from normal temperatures is given for certain East Slope stations, during foehn wind frontogenesis.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
