In opdracht van Nebest bv is door Greenhouse Advies bv voorliggend archeologisch bureauonderzoek opgesteld voor het plangebied Fietsbrug A12 te Bunnik. Aanleiding voor het onderzoek is de voorgenomen vervanging van de bestaande brug over de snelweg. Het plangebied en de directe omgeving bestaat uit rivierafzettingen van de Oude Rijn. De bodem betreft kalkloze poldervaaggronden. De aanleg en verbreding van de snelweg A12 heeft naar verwachting de grootste invloed gehad op het eventueel aanwezige bodemarchief binnen het plangebied. Op basis van het bureauonderzoek geldt voor het plangebied een middelhoge archeologische verwachting voor de periode late Nieuwe Steentijd tot de Nieuwe tijd. Oudere perioden hebben een lage archeologische verwachting omdat deze gronden naar verwachting al zijn geërodeerd door de latere Oude Rijn.
