En moyenne, par rapport aux locataires, les propriétaires déclarent éprouver une plus grande satisfaction à l’égard de leur logement, de leur quartier et de leur vie. Cet écart peut représenter un effet causal positif du fait d’être propriétaire sur le degré de satisfaction. D’autre part, cet écart pourrait aussi refléter des effets de composition, comme des différences dans les caractéristiques du ménage, du logement et du quartier. Cette étude repose sur l’Enquête canadienne sur le logement de 2021. Elle fournit une comparaison de la satisfaction entre les locataires et les propriétaires à l’égard du logement, du quartier et de la vie tout en tenant compte des effets de composition.
