Abstract
The rediscovery of Italian workers who chose the road of overseas emigration between the late nineteenth and early twentieth century to work on the construction and decoration of ecclesiastical buildings, sheds an unprecedented light on the Church of the time, as well as on the dialogue between Europe and America and on integration issues. Among the fundamental witnesses the Tuscan Guido Nincheri who left traces of his work in over one hundred churches between the United States and Canada and who appears here for the first time as a genuine spokesman for the obstacles experienced even by the universal language of art.
