Material examined. 3 females, 1 male, 25 miles off N Los Testigos Archipelago, 11°45’00”N 63°5’00”W, Fridtjof Nansen R/V st 743, 807– 878 m depth, 31.viii.1988, (MMM-Crus-245). Geographic & bathymetric distribution. Western Atlantic: from Canada (Nova Scotia) to Brazil (Santa Catarina); Eastern Atlantic, Western Pacific; 609–5777 m (Pérez Farfante & Kensley 1997; D’Incao 1998; Felder et al. 2009). Remarks: Records for Venezuela: Off W La Orchila Island (Pérez Farfante 1985). This is the second report of B. barletti for Venezuela.
