<em>In this article we discuss a proposed method for ultimate strength assessment of stiffened panel using non-linear equivalent single layer (ESL) approach under uni-axial compression.</em> <em>3-D stiffened panel is transformed to 2-D ESL with considering the same stiffness matrices. The stiffness matrices is obtained from the unit cell simulation subjected to displacement, shear, bending, and torsion. </em> <em>Non-linear ESL simulation is performed by Abaqus UGENS subroutine to consider material and geometrical nonlinearities in unit cell level.</em>
