Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

In response to an archaeological condition on the planning permission for the redevelopment of the the site of a petrol station and industrial estate at 2 Royston Road, Baldock, Herts, the Heritage Network was commissioned by the developer to undertake a programme of archaeological monitoring of the groundworks on the site. The demolition and construction groundworks likely to affect the underlying archaeology were conducted under archaeological supervision. Previous work on the site had demonstrated evidence for settlement between the 1st and 2nd centuries AD. Features and artefacts of late pre-Roman and Roman date, suggesting settlement from an earlier date than the evaluation indicated, were recorded during the current phase of work. Preservation of the archaeology was poor due to the disruption caused by post medieval and modern activity on the site.Where possible the archaeological features encountered were preserved in situ beneath a geotextile membrane and a depth of granular material not less than 100mm in depth.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
