Abstract

L'enquête sur les dépenses alimentaires en 1984 était la première d'envergure nationale depuis 1982 et visait à fournir des renseignements sur les familles et les personnes seules (unités de dépense) vivant dans un ménage privé dans dix-sept grandes villes du Canada. Par contraste, l'enquête de 1982 englobait les dix provinces du Canada ainsi que Whitehorse et Yellowknife. Les utilisateurs doivent noter que les données sur l'ensemble des dépenses pour 1984 ont été recueillies dans le cadre d'une enquête distincte (voir la publication no 62-555 au catalogue de Statistique Canada). Cette enquête avait le même champs d'observation que l'enquête sur les dépenses alimentaires en 1984. Une bande à grande diffusion a été produite à partir de cette enquête. Les dossiers pour Charlottetown et Summerside sont exclus des bandes des deux enquêtes de 1984.
