Quatrième volume de la collection « Récits d’esclaves », cette traduction inédite et entièrement annotée livre le témoignage de Henry Bibb, né esclave dans le Kentucky vers 1814. Inlassable fugitif, vendu en Louisiane puis aux Cherokees du Territoire Indien, il échoue à libérer sa famille des chaînes de l’esclavage mais parvient à rejoindre le Nord et le mouvement abolitionniste, au sein duquel il lutte jusqu’à sa mort en 1854 au Canada. http://purh.univ-rouen.fr/node/1237
