Plus de la moitié de la population mondiale vit actuellement dans des villes et on s’attend à ce que ce chiffre double d'ici 2050. La création de villes durables est cruciale pour l'avenir du Canada et du monde entier, et notre réponse collective au changement climatique sera ressentie et portée par nos centres urbains. Nous avons besoin de recherches de pointe pour aider à orienter le progrès des gouvernements afin d'apporter un changement réel et tangible. Pour ce faire, la Faculté des arts a créé la chaire pour la mobilité de la recherche en durabilité urbaine afin de soutenir financièrement une chercheuse ou un chercheur invité durant son séjour à l’université d’Ottawa.
