Sleep as an Outcome Measure in Interventional ADHD Randomized Controlled Trials: A Scoping Review

Abstract
Emerging literature is demonstrating the intrinsic role of sleep in ADHD, including the recently described ADHD sleep phenotypes and ADHD related sleep disorders. The objective of this scoping review is to investigate interventional ADHD RCTs that include sleep as an outcome measure to determine which tools are used to measure sleep and the validity of the tools used. Knowledge of the degree of emphasis on sleep in ADHD RCTs determined by this scoping review may be used to guide future study designs and employ validated sleep outcome measure tools.
