Abstract
The benefits of mindfulness are widely recognised and increasingly understood. However, much of the existing literature on mindfulness is framed through a Western perspective, often overlooking First Nations perspectives. While culturally adapted mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) have been developed, the conceptualization of mindfulness by First Nations Peoples remains insufficiently explored. The objective of this review is to investigate the psychological and cultural dimensions of mindfulness within First Nations peoples.
