Abstract
Project for University of Toronto PSY305 APA Written Assignment Final Project. Research question: What is the relationship between cognition and brain volume, and if it exists, are sex and socioeconomic status moderators of this relationship? Hypothesis: Cognitive performance will be positively associated with total brain volume such that adults with higher Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) scores will tend to have larger brain volumes compared to adults with lower MMSE scores. Furthermore, this relationship will be stronger in females compared to males and in poor socioeconomic statuses compared to high socioeconomic statuses.
