Abstract

Il existe une confusion et une incompréhension autour des concepts d’application des connaissances, de transfert de connaissances, d’échange de connaissances, d’utilisation de la recherche, de mise en œuvre, de diffusion et de dissémination. Nous examinons les termes et les définitions utilisés pour décrire le concept de mise en action des connaissances. Nous proposons également un cadre conceptuel pour réfléchir à son processus et y intégrer les rôles de la création et de l’application des connaissances. Les implications de l’application des connaissances pour la formation continue dans les professions de santé incluent le besoin de baser la formation continue sur les meilleures connaissances disponibles, l’utilisation de stratégies éducatives et d’autres stratégies de transfert dont l’efficacité est reconnue, et la valeur de l’apprentissage des théories de l’action planifiée pour être à même de mieux comprendre et d'influencer le changement dans les contextes de pratique.
