En 2022, la santé sexuelle et reproductive (SSR) des femmes ainsi que leur autonomie corporelle sont remises en question aux États-Unis par l’annulation de l’arrêt Roe v. Wade. Au Canada et au Québec, l’accès à des soins en SSR n’est pas garanti pour toutes les femmes, pas plus qu’ils ne sont nécessairement adaptés à leurs besoins. Dans cette thèse, j’examine donc l’approche féministe en santé sexuelle et reproductive (SSR) telle que comprise et appliquée par le Centre de santé des femmes de Montréal et par une herboriste-thérapeute accréditée au Québec. Plus particulièrement, je m’intéresse aux approches et pratiques mises en œuvre par ces deux entités afin d’encourager l’agentivité et de favoriser l’autonomisation des femmes dans leur cheminement thérapeutique, et ce selon une perspective féministe et intersectionnelle. Je m’interroge également sur la manière dont leurs actions contribuent ou non à la démédicalisation et à la réappropriation du corps des femmes dans un contexte de soins féministes en SSR. L’enquête ethnographique sur laquelle cette recherche s’appuie rassemble des entretiens semi-dirigés et un terrain d’observation participante. La recherche permet de révéler que l’agentivité de toutes les femmes au sein de leur cheminement thérapeutique pourrait être encouragée par une approche féministe de la SSR contribuant à la démédicalisation du corps féminin et de ses phénomènes biologiques et favorisant leur agentivité.
