Abstract
La situation sur le marché du travail des immigrants arrivés récemment au Canada est souvent davantage touchée par les récessions que celle des personnes nées au Canada. L’entrée sur le marché du travail pendant une récession peut également engendrer des effets « marquants » pour les travailleurs immigrants et ceux nés au Canada (la notion que les effets engendrés par l’entrée sur le marché de travail pendant une période où le taux de chômage est élevé persistent pendant plusieurs années). Toutefois, la gravité et les caractéristiques des récessions varient grandement et peuvent avoir des répercussions diverses sur les résultats des immigrants. Cet article compare les résultats des immigrants au cours des trois dernières récessions.
