Abstract
De nombreux immigrants s’installent dans des pays comme le Canada, en partie pour offrir davantage de possibilités éducatives et économiques à leurs enfants. Pour sa part, le Canada se tourne aussi vers les immigrants et leurs enfants pour fournir des niveaux de compétences supérieurs sur le marché du travail. Le présent article vise à examiner l’effet du niveau de scolarité de la mère et du père sur la probabilité qu’une personne ayant immigré durant l’enfance, qui est arrivée au Canada à l’âge de 17 ans ou moins, termine des études postsecondaires. Le document a aussi pour objet de déterminer s’il existe une variation importante dans ces relations entre les immigrants provenant de différentes régions.
