Leitura e tradução da obra da poeta indígena canadense Joséphine Bacon

Abstract
RESUMO: Joséphine Bacon é uma voz marcante da poesia indígena canadense francófona contemporânea. O seu último livro recebeu dois importantes prêmios literários em 2019. Além disso, a sua trajetória de vida foi recentemente retratada em filme documentário premiado em festivais internacionais. A autora foi separada de sua família na infância teve uma vida dividida entre a cidade de Montréal e as reservas indígenas, entre falar francês e se reapropriar de sua língua materna. Bacon descobre sua voz na poesia, e afirma sua vontade de ser poeta da tradição oral, como os Anciões (com A maiúsculo), “raça” da qual, agora, ela faz parte (BACON, 2018). Nosso objetivo é apresentar uma reflexão sobre a importância de ler e traduzir a poesia de Bacon para a divulgação e sensibilização da história dos povos indígenas americanos, e para a valorização das vozes femininas na poesia indígena contemporânea.
