L’objectif de la présente recherche est d’analyser les mécanismes de prise en compte des croyances religieuses des employés dans la politique de gestion des ressources humaines afin de maintenir ou d’accroître la performance des PME béninoises. Pour y parvenir, nous avons adopté une démarche qualitative d’analyse de contenu thématique d’entrevues. Nous avons réalisé 14 entrevues auprès des dirigeants de PME de divers secteurs d’activités (Agroalimentaire, distribution, informatique, consignation, éducation, tourisme et divertissement, etc.). Les 14 entrevues ne sont pas déterminées à l’avance et donc représentent le seuil de saturation. Nos résultats indiquent le mode de gestion de la diversité religieuse dans les PME béninoises ne concordent pas avec ce que stipule la littérature. Pour maintenir ou accroître leur performance, les PME béninoises recherchent un équilibre entre les pratiques religieuses et les pratiques de GRH. Elles ne rejettent pas entièrement les convictions religieuses en milieu de travail et ont une forte tolérance aux pratiques religieuses discrètes et sobres.
