Klimaszewski et al. 2007a, 2009a, 2013 a, 2018. Webster et al. 2009. Distribution. Palearctic, now cosmopolitan, adventive in Canada and the USA. Canada: AB, BC, NB, NS, ON, QC. USA: CA, FL, LA, MA, NH (NSR), NJ, NY. Collection and Habitat data. The NH specimens were found in greenhouses and in a house. Collected in February, April, October, and November. In Canada common in compost (decaying corncobs and vegetables) near a mixed forest, under decaying seaweed on sea beach, and one was taken from a Lindgren funnel trap in a silver maple swamp (Webster et al. 2009). From other areas reported from rotting organic materials (grass heaps, carrion, mushrooms), and from forest litter (Klimaszewski et al. 2018). Material.
