Pandeleteius is the most diverse New World genus of tanymecines, with almost 200 species ranging from southern Canada to southern Chile and Argentina (Howden 2011) of which 38 species are recorded from Mexico. The relationships among Pandeleteius (Pandeleteius), Pandeleteius (Exmenetypus) and Airosimus need to be evaluated. To separate Mexican species, see Champion (1911) and Howden (1959, 1986, 1998).
