Abstract
The Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) Land Sales Catalogue contains records of sales of agricultural land by the CPR to settlers in Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan from 1881 to 1927. The information includes the name of the purchaser, legal description of the land (i.e. NW-03-045-24-W4), number of acres purchased, and cost per acre. These records are often used for century farm status. These records were transcribed from the original CPR Land Sales Ledgers by volunteers of the Glenbow Archives. We cannot guarantee all information is accurate and complete. We recommend researchers verify all details. Original ledgers can be found at UCalgary Archives and Special Collections.
