La littératie inclut l’ensemble des compétences qui permettent aux individus non seulement de vivre en société, mais également d’y contribuer. La compétence à communiquer oralement est au cœur de la littératie et occupe une place importante dès le début de la scolarité. En rehaussant les habiletés des élèves à l’oral, cela favorise le développement des compétences en littératie des adultes de demain. Par conséquent, il est essentiel d’enseigner et d’évaluer l’oral dès l’école primaire, mais qu’en est-il des perceptions et des pratiques des enseignants? Ce texte propose une mise en commun de deux recherches menées respectivement au Québec et en Espagne à partir d’un même questionnaire d’enquête portant sur les pratiques d’enseignement et d’évaluation de l’oral en français et en espagnol langues premières. Les perceptions et les pratiques d’enseignants de ces deux communautés linguistiques ainsi que les points de convergence et de divergence sont présentés.
