Abstract
Nemiroff studies the development of the work of three 1960s American artists by looking at nine works in the collection of the National Gallery of Canada. The author highlights the influence of painting on these works, analyzes their formal, material and spatial characteristics, and relates how they are akin to or different from readymades and Constructivist work.
