Cinq érudits islamisants ont rassemblé ici cinq manuscrits arabes « sauvés des sables » émanant de quatre lettrés peuls du Fouta-Djalon de la courte période 1851-1873. Les originaux sont reproduits à la fin d’un ouvrage particulièrement précis et scrupuleux dans les détails, qui exige une lecture lente et attentive. En effet, les noms peuls de lieux et surtout de personnes, déjà complexes en eux-mêmes et souvent composés de quatre ou cinq éléments, ont été affectés d’une triple transcription...
