Abstract
El autor ha indagado en el pensamiento político de Pueyrredon, disperso en múltiples documentos públicos y privados, revelándolo como dueño de un temple políticamente creativo, vinculado a su breve paso en el cargo de Director Supremo con la ayuda de José de San Martin. Este trabajo no pretende aportar documentación nueva a la mirada de las ideas políticas del general Pueyrredon, sino ordenar una serie de expresiones política. Para ello sitúa los textos en relación a sus contextos, a la importancia que tuvieron sobre ellos, las formas en que operaron y las fuentes intelectuales. Se observan las conexiones entre el discurso y la práctica ante la ambigüedad de su rol público, el cual enfatizó durante la Guerra de la Independencia de las Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata. Se articula así la labor político-intelectual desarrollada a lo largo de su vida.
