their associates and successors all holding office under authority of section one of chapter one hundred and twenty-nine of the acts of eighteen hundred and sevnety-one shall cease and their powers and duties shall be transferred to and exercised by a board of trustees appointed under authority of section four of said chapter one hundred and twenty-nine, as amended by section two of this act. Section I A.Section 3 of chapter 129 of the acts of 1871 is hereby amended by striking out the last sentence, added by section 1 of chapter 163 of the acts of 1897.
