La cultura alimentare delle popolazioni siberiane, che ha conserva le caratteristiche originarie, si spiega alla luce del sistema sciamanico di credenze, secondo cui anche i cibi e le bevande hanno in sé un “doppio” animato e sono, considerati sacri in quanto prodotti genuini della natura. Per questo sono offerti ritualmente alle divinità in cerimonie che aiutano l’uomo, consapevole di essere una creatura energetica, a mantenere saldo l’impegno preso nei confronti della natura, cioè quello di rispettarne le energie. \nL’uomo che vive nelle società industrializzate anche nei suoi comportamenti alimentari sottovaluta sia l’importanza dell’energia della natura sia il proprio stesso potenziale energetico, che s’indebolisce nelle ripetitive abitudini quotidiane. Egli ha bisogno di rafforzare consapevolmente e piacevolmente le proprie energie e la propria salute con un’alimentazione biologica, consapevole, sana ed equa, nel rispetto delle risorse della natura. \nNelle società di cultura sciamanica l’uomo, non considerandosi superiore agli altri esseri del cosmo “animato”, ha rispetto per le piante, gli animali, gli alimenti, e così via, e li reputa come equivalenti a sé. La sua concezione della storia come espressione del fluire continuo della cultura originaria in costante rinnovamento lo porta a pensare alle generazioni future. La sua visione del mondo è la visione di un insieme energetico unitario, che lo induce a vivere in una prospettiva di sostenibilità. Una riflessione sui caratteri e sulla storia della sua cultura alimentare può essere oggi di grande utilità per le cosiddette società avanzate.
