nada.L'Etat aurait dû en faire imprimer " des milliers d'exemplaires et les répandre " dans toutes les écoles.C'est l'abécédaire " politique que tout le monde devrait ap- " prendre."Cette opinion nous a paru bien juste, et nous sommes surpris qu'on n'ait pas pensé avant aujourd'hui à faire cette publication, dont l'utilité ne saurait être mise en doute.Nous avons cru combler cette lacune en rééditant ce rapport dans son entier.Nous ne réclamons pour notre œuvre d'autre mérite que celui d'avoir suppléé au devoir qui nous paraissait s'imposer au gouver- nement.Il n'y a rien de nouveau dans ce travail.Ce ne sont que quelques notes d'histoire, avec un précis de l'Acte de la Confédération et d'un certain nombre de statuts concernant l'organisation administrative du pays, ainsi que de certaines règles parlementai- res.Cependant on y trouve plusieurs dé- tails qu'on s'étonne, en les lisant, de ne pas savoir.Ce sont souvent les choses les plus usuelles qu'on oublie d'apprendre.Comme l'éducation de la jeunesse en publiant ce petit sommaire, qui ne sera pas, du reste, déplacé dans la bibliothèque, sinon dans la mémoire de tous ceux qui s'occupent de politique.Sans autre préface, voici ce travail, qu'on jugera après l'avoir lu.
