Abstract
Ce mémoire s'intéresse à la construction identitaire des étudiants originaires de milieux francophones minoritaires au Canada. Dans une perspective sociologique, cette recherche est basée sur une étude de cas auprès de 21 étudiants francophones originaires de la Saskatchewan, de l'Ontario et du Nouveau-Brunswick. La cueillette des données a été réalisée à partir d'entretiens individuels semi-dirigés de type récits de vie. Les données ont été analysées à partir d'un cadre théorique qui s'inscrit dans la perspective de l'interactionnisme symbolique. Selon cette approche, l'identité est le produit des diverses interactions que vit un individu au cours de sa vie. Les résultats de l'analyse des épisodes d'interaction montrent que le contact avec l'autre conduit à une négociation qui permet aux étudiants de se (re)définir et de se (ré)affirmer au plan identitaire. Ce mémoire contribue au développement de connaissances utiles dans le champ de l'orientation en ce qui concerne les transitions étudiantes et la construction identitaire.
