Abstract
Our group chose this topic to honor the lives of the Indigenous people lost at the Cypress Hill Massacre. Our website offers key events and their consequences that led to the massacre of innocent men, women, children, and elderly people in 1873. The Cypress Hill Massacre focuses on what is categorized as the worst mass-murder in Canadian history that is rarely ever mentioned as even a footnote in our history. It occurred in a remote south-western area of Saskatchewan. End of May and starting of June 1873, a dark day of history started with the killing of a White man, Paul Rivers, by an Indian, and a missing horse resulted in the battle near the site of Fort Walsh between a small band of Indians and people and a group of white traders.
