\n\nGENERAL KNOWLEDGE\n\nName and Surname\t\t\t: Mehmet MUŞ\nField \t\t\t\t\t: Economics\nProgramme\t\t\t\t: Economic History\nSupervisor \t\t\t\t: Prof. Dr. Gülfettin ÇELİK\nDegree Awarded and Date\t\t: Doctorate – February 2014\nKeywors \t\t\t\t: Democracy, Democratization, Economic Development, Dominant Party. \n\nABSTRACT\nTHE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DEMOCRATIZATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT : DOMINANT PARTY EFFECT\nAfter the oil crisis in 1973, along with increasing effect of liberal economic understanding on economic decision-makers and economic policy, the relationships between democracy with the direction of liberal, political stability and economic development have been disputed. Many studies have been made about how democratization and economic development triggered each other and how much political stability and instability in democracy have affected economic developments. \nFor this purpose, in this study, based on the fact that how democratic developments and economic development performance of six samples (Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, the Swedish Social Democratic Party, Malaysian United Malays National Organisation, the UK Conservative Party, the Liberal Party of Canada, the National Congress of South Africa) in global politics of “Dominant Party” notion which are defined as the most powerful form of political stability in democracy have been analyzed and inferences related to this notion about Turkey’s potential future also have been studied.\n At the end of the study, political stability has been found to be a positive factor on economic development. Also, in the case of six dominant party in global politics, economic performance of the countries has been found to be better than related economic groups (world, income level, geographic). In the case of Turkey, the period of political stability and even long-term political stability have better economic performance, comparing to other periods. It can be said that the periods of dominant party have positive results for Turkey’s economy, considering six dominant party samples in global politics and in the case of Turkey, economic performances in the periods of political stability.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
