Abstract
La respuesta sexual describe cómo las personas responden a estímulos sexuales internos o externos. Esta se divide en cuatro fases: deseo, excitación, orgasmos, y resolución. Particularmente, los orgasmos son la fase de la cual se conoce menos, dado que no existe un modelo animal ni molecular de sus mecanismos. Por ello, se desconoce exactamente cuándo estos comienzan o terminan. Estudios experimentales han evaluado cuánto aproximadamente duran demostrando una alta variación, probablemente explicada por diferencias contextuales y fisiológicas. Así como que ninguna de estas medidas en sí constituye un orgasmo. No obstante, ningún estudio ha evaluado si variables psicológicas y contextuales pueden alterar la percepción de la duración de los orgasmos (PDO). Por ello, el presente tuvo por objetivo evaluar cómo la experiencia subjetiva de los orgasmos de las personas modula la percepción de la duración de sus orgasmos, y las potenciales diferencias de género.
