Abstract
La dynamique structurale des milieux riverains est influencée par des facteurs écologiques, géomorphologiques et hydrologiques interdépendants. Au Québec subarctique, depuis la régression de la mer de Tyrrell, il a été démontré que les conditions hydroclimatiques ont eu une influence considérable sur la dynamique hydrogéomorphologique des milieux riverains subarctiques. Cette étude, qui s’appuie sur des indicateurs géopédologiques et paléoécologiques ainsi que sur des datations au radiocarbone, a d’ailleurs identifié les principales phases de développement, et ce depuis 4000 ans, de trois types de milieu riverain (les champs de blocs, les plages de sable et les platières végétales) occupant les rives d’une rivière subarctique, la rivière Boniface (57o 45’ N, 76o 20’ O). Ces différentes phases de dynamique hydrogéomorphologique, intimement liées aux variations du niveau d’eau de cette rivière, sont similaires à celles identifiées ailleurs au Québec subarctique et dans certaines régions boréales du Québec.
