Abstract
Las recomendaciones de diseño para edificios de varios pisos torsionalmente desbalanceados, que presentan diferentes códigos de diseño de edificaciones, de países como Canadá, Estados Unidos, México, Australia, entre otros, y las que proponen diferentes investigadores, son analizadas en este trabajo junto con las recomendaciones que presentan las Normas Colombianas de Diseño y Construcción Sismo Resistente NSR-98.Este estudio se hace mediante un análisis inelástico comparativo de las demandas de ductilidad normalizadas en los planos resistentes de un edificio cuyos centros de rigidez de piso no coinciden con los centros de cortante, con respecto a las demandas de ductilidad que presentan estos mismos planos en una estructura torsionalmente balanceada. El trabajo incluye tres modelos de edificios de cinco pisos, sometidos al registro acelerográfico de El Centro en las dos direcciones principales; siete procedimientos de diseño que reflejan las recomendaciones de los diferentes códigos de construcción y las desarrolladas en recientes investigaciones, y considera dos coeficientes de reducción de resistencia que involucran una evaluación en diferentes niveles de la respuesta inelástica./The design recommendations for torsionally unbalanced multistory buildings present different design codes for edifications in countries like Canada, USA, Mexico and Australia, among others; these and the proposals by different researchers are analyzed in this document along with the recommendations presented by the Colombian Regulations for Design and Seismic Resistant Constructions NSR-98.This study made through a comparative inelastic analysis of the ductility demands normalized in the resistant planes of a building whose floor rigidity centers do not coincide with the shear centers, with respect to the ductility demands presented by those planes in a torsionally balanced structure. The study considers three models of five-story buildings, subjected to both horizontal components of the El Centro (1940) ground motion as well as seven procedures that reflect the recommendations of the different construction codes and those developed in recent researches; two resistance reduction coefficients that involve an evaluation in different levels of inelastic response are considered.
