La présente recherche s'intéresse au phénomène de la violence chez les couples adolescents. Plus précisément, elle vise à valider le VIFA, un instrument développé afin de mesurer la violence subie par les filles victimes et commise par les garçons agresseurs. Ce questionnaire, qui possède déjà de bonnes qualités psychométriques au niveau de ses trois échelles de violence (psychologique, physique et sexuelle), a été administré à 184 élèves de secondaire III fréquentant une école publique de la région de Québec. Par la suite, 48 d'entre eux ont accepté de passer une entrevue individuelle sur le même thème. Le type de validation retenu consiste en la comparaison entre les classifications d'après le questionnaire et la classification obtenue par une entrevue de type clinique. Tant au questionnaire qu'à l'entrevue, les participants sont classifiés en catégories: Victime ou Non-Victime pour les filles et Violent ou Non-Violent pour les garçons. Des analyses corrélationnelles ont permis de faire une comparaison entre les classifications obtenues au questionnaire et à l'entrevue. Les résultats indiquent des corrélations moyennes à élevées pour les garçons et de faibles à moyennes pour les filles ce qui suggère l'importance de certaines améliorations.
