Abstract
Le gel hivernal au Québec est l'un de facteurs déterminants qui influence la survie et le rendement de la vigne. La connaissance du mode d'action de ce facteur climatique présente un grand intérêt pour les agronomes et les praticiens qui se préoccupent de la protection de la vigne. Plusieurs types de protection de la vigne contre le gel hivernai i.e. [hivernal] sont utilisés (buttage surtout et enfeuillage) ou expérimentés (la toile de géotextile et le cône de polystyrène). Afin d'évaluer la qualité de différents types de protection du Seyval nous avons mené une recherche au vignoble Sous les Charmilles à Rock Forest de décembre 1997 à octobre 1998. Des données de températures au sol, sous différents abris (butte de terre, butte de feuilles, neige raportée et neige naturelle) et de l'air ambiant sont enregistrées à l'aide de thermocouples reliés à un système automatique d'acquisition de données.
