Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The structure of the conus papillaris in an \nAustralian lizard. the bobtail goanna (Tiliqua rugosa) \nwas investigated by lipht and electron microscopy. In this \nstrongly diurrial species, the conus papillaris consists of a \nheavily vascularized and pigmented, finger-like structure \nabout 1 mm ir1 diameter and 3-3 mm in length. It is \nsituated over the optic nerve head and projects into the \nvitreous chamber. Within the conus are numerous \ncapillaries and larger blood vessels. melanocytes and \noccasional mast cells. Many of the capillaries display \nprominent luminal and abluminal microfolds. Other \ncapillaries show no microfolds while still others display \nan intermediate number of microfolds. The larger blood \nvessels are usually indistinguishable as to being either \narterioles or venules. The endothelial cells of al1 blood \nvessels show a population of cytoplasmic granules. The \nmelanocytes are large pleomorphic cells usually rich in \nmicrofilaments. Unmyelinated nerve processes are \nplentiful within the conus and the Schwann cells \nericlosing these nerve fibres are occasionally seen to be \npigmented. The rnorphology of the conus papillaris \nindicates a heavy involvernent in the transport of \nmaterials. It is considered to be homologous to the \npecten oculi of the avian eye: to the falciform process of \nthe teleost eye; to the supraretinal vessels of amphibians \nand to the intraretinal vessels of the mammalian eye.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
