Abstract
A dia d'avui, Escòcia, amb la nova victòria de l'Scottish National Party i la promesa d'un referèndum d'independència aquesta legislatura, ha esdevingut el referent per l'independentisme dels Països Catalans i de la resta de nacions sense estat.Però fins fa poc, aquest mirall, aquest referent, era el Quebec.Una nació que el 1995 es va quedar a les portes d'aconseguir un estat propi.Un 49,42% de vots favorables a la independència que setze anys després semblen lluny de poder-se aconseguir de nou.Identitat, nacionalisme i independentisme al Quebec VISTA PRèVIA Des dels anys 1970, el Quebec és un referent i un símbol per una gran part de les nacions sense estat occidentals, especialment pel fet que fou la primera nació que va organitzar un referèndum per la independència, el maig del 1980.Però actualment, el Quebec es troba immers en un impàs polític important en referència al seu futur nacional.Des del fallit segon referèndum celebrat l'octubre de 1995, podem constatar un afebliment de l'afirmació política nacionalista i independentista, fins al punt que en diversos sondejos, el suport a la independència del Quebec no sobrepassa el 45% de la població, recollint en moltes ocasions percentatges menors.La desfeta electoral del Bloc Québécois -partit sobiranista que vol representar els interessos del Quebec al Parlament canadenc-a les darreres eleccions federals 1 i la feblesa actual del Parti Québécois il•lustren abastament la fragilitat i la desorientació del nacionalisme i de l'independentisme quebequès.Comprendre les raons d'aquesta situació no es pot limitar a una simple constatació del cansament i el desànim que comporten les derrotes del «Sí» en 1 A les eleccions federals de 2011, el Bloc Québécois va obtenir el 6,1% dels vots, però tan sols quatre diputats -perd 4 punts i 45 diputats-a causa d'un sistema electoral estrictament majoritari.El gran beneficiat fou el socialdemòcrata Nouveau Parti Démocratique (NPD), que va rebre el vot de tots els que volien fer front al Parti Conservateur du Canada de Stephen Harper (1959).Malgrat l'ascens del NPD al Quebec, Harper va tornar a ser escollit Primer Ministre del Canadà.
