Abstract
ABSTRACT: The current post-pandemic context provides an opportunity for Quebec society to remedy the shortcomings identified during the crisis, such as the lack of preparation for this type of a situation and the dependence on international imports in terms of energy, but especially of food. Greenhouses present an opportunity for cold-climate regions like Quebec to increase their food self-reliance, at the cost of an increased energy use to maintain optimal growing conditions all year long. Energy analyses are required to optimize the design and operation of greenhouses, and integrate them into efficient decarbonized energy systems. Greenhouse models implemented in building performance simulation tools are often overly simplified, representing them as empty buildings. On the other hand, dedicated models can be very complex, their parameters are not always documented. and they cannot be used directly within energy simulation tools. This thesis is aimed at developing a whole greenhouse energy model within a building per-formance simulation tool. A plant model was developed with equations from the literature and information from a commercial greenhouse. The model accounts for all components of the plant hygrothermal balance and exchanges information with the building model. A con-densation model was also developed to fill a gap in building energy models, which typically detect the risk for condensation but do not quantify it. Control strategies and operating conditions were implemented to represent a commercial greenhouse in the Quebec climate. Modeling results were compared to the actual 2020 operation data of a commercial green-house. The comparison shows very good agreement with the yearly heating load, with a difference of 12%. The dynamic behaviour of the greenhouse is satisfactorily reproduced, with some limitations related to control strategies and simplifications in the model. The model can be generalized and expanded to include other aspects such as the heat pro-duction system. It represents an advancement of the modeling tools available to investigate efficient heating systems and advanced control strategies to manage the peak demand of electrically-heated greenhouses.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
