Abstract
Aiheen antaja on Wärtsilä Finland R&D tuotekehitysyksikkö. Tämän työn tarkoi-tus on löytää lyhyin tie ohjauspaineilmakanaville käytettäessä uutta ohjausilman jakosysteemiä paineilmakäynnistyksessä. Uusi ilmanjakaja hyödyntää VIC- eli imuventtiilin ajoitus- yksikön mekaanista liikettä. Myös kallis alumiiniprofiili ha-luttiin korvata halvemmalla ratkaisulla. \n \nTavoitteena oli vähentää pitkien ohjausilmakanavien viiveestä johtuvaa suurta ilman kulutusta. Ilmaa kuljettava alumiiniprofiili moottorin päällä tulee suunnitella uusiksi. Koska alkuperäisessä kanavassa kulkee sekä varsinainen käynnistysilma että jokaisen sylinterin ohjausilma erillisissä kanavissa, täytyy suunnitella ratkaisu, jossa käytettäisiin vain yhtä kanavaa. Ohjausilma tullaan ottamaan paikallisesti jokaiselle sylinterinkannelle samasta kanavasta. Ohjausilma viedään sylinte-rinkanteen VIC- yksikön kautta. Ratkaisuksi on suunniteltu joko uudestaan muo-toiltu kevyempi ja halvempi alumiiniprofiili, tai teräsputkista ja valurautaisesta liitoskappaleesta valmistettua ratkaisua. \n \nKaksi alumiiniprofiilin versiota suunniteltiin ja niiden molempien paino laski noin 20 prosenttia. Myös pursotushinta laski saman verran. Kaikkein halvimmaksi ver-sioksi osoittautui kuitenkin teräsputkirakenne valurautaisella liittimellään. Sen hinnaksi jäi ainoastaan 10.5 prosenttia alkuperäisestä alumiiniprofiilista.
