Abstract
La formation universitaire habilitant les futurs maîtres du primaire à dispenser l'enseignement moral et religieux catholique. La thèse élabore les principes directeurs, les contenus et la pédagogie d'un plan de formation universitaire préparant des futurs maîtres du primaire à dispenser l'enseignement moral et religieux catholique dans les écoles publiques du Québec. Dans le cadre des orientations qui caractérisent l'enseignement religieux catholique au primaire alliant l'éducation à la quête de sens et l'initiation à la foi chrétienne, la formation à prévoir doit prendre en compte les acquis religieux et les attitudes des candidats au départ de leur formation. À cette fin, une enquête a été réalisée auprès de trois cents cinquante étudiants dans quatre universités québécoises en 1989 et en 1991. Une synthèse des attentes des diverses instances sociales en cause dans cette éducation a aussi été dressée. Une section approfondit en particulier les rapports entre éducation religieuse et initiation à la foi chrétienne. Ces trois types de considérations ont servi à déterminer un profil de compétence à partir duquel sont dégagés les principes, les contenus et la pédagogie du plan de formation.
