Abstract
Le religioni hanno, al giorno d’oggi, un peso particolarmente significativo sulla vita delle persone ed anche la sfera del diritto, nel corso degli anni, ha dovuto con esse confrontarsi. Entrando più nello specifico, risulta interessante la tematica inerente i simboli religiosi, privati e collettivi, con cui gli individui ed i gruppi manifestano la propria fede. Dal Canada alla Francia, dall'Italia alla Germania, dalla Svizzera al Belgio, molti Stati di diverse zone del mondo hanno infatti conosciuto episodi relativi a questa materia e molte sono state le prese di posizione al riguardo. Tuttavia, quale ulteriore conferma del rilievo assunto proprio dal tema dei simboli religiosi, occorre anche ricordare come gli ultimi anni siano stati caratterizzati da una sempre più significativa importanza ricoperta dalla giurisprudenza della Corte europea dei diritti dell’uomo, la quale si è più volte espressa sia su un tema come quello del velo islamico sia su quello del crocifisso appeso alle pareti.
