Abstract
Cet article se propose de réfléchir sur « l’enjeu-mémoire » dans le processus d’appréhension et de transfiguration de l’espace américain dans l’œuvre de l’écrivain-géographe canadien -le « Créole des neiges »- Jean Morisset. Il s’agira de préciser les éléments d’une autre géographie du continent américain que l’écriture de Morisset dévoile. Pour ce faire, nous allons naviguer à travers ses récits littéraires, ses essais et ses poèmes, en tenant compte de la fluidité des frontières entre les genres, en phase avec la pensée holistique de l’auteur dont nous nous efforçons, ici, de souligner le caractère anticonformiste et original. À cet effet, nous nous appuierons sur la lecture de sa prose poétique dans la « Terra Hochelaga », du poème « géographies géographies » ainsi que de ses essais.
