Abstract
D’acord amb la tradició llegendària, sant Indaleci va ser un dels set barons apostòlics enviats des de Roma a evangelitzar Hispània. El seu cos, inicialment enterrat a Andalusia, va ser rebut solemnement al monestir de Sant Joan de la Penya el 28 de març de 1084, on va ser considerat sant protector i patró. De l’ofici litúrgic de la translació de les relíquies en coneixem dues redaccions: una pren com a base el repertori del comú d’un confessor i l’altra és una nova composició en vers. La primera redacció, a priori més antiga, es localitza tan sols en un antifonari de Sanctis d’inicis del segle XII provinent del monestir femení de Santa Creu de la Serós; la segona es troba en quatre fonts: a més d’aquest antifonari, en tres breviaris de Sant Joan de la Penya avui dipositats a la Reial Biblioteca del monestir de San Lorenzo de El Escorial: els manuscrits L.III.3 (s. XII ex.), P.III.12 (s. XIV) i f.IV.26 (ca. 1400). L’ofici ja ha estat estudiat des de les perspectives hagiogràfica i històrica, fins i tot els seus textos han estat editats. El que pretenem en aquestes pàgines és conèixer els criteris liturgicomusicals que van guiar-ne la composició, fins ara desconeguts.
