Abstract
En ce début du XXIe siècle, la foi chrétienne vit des moments difficiles au Québec. Nous avons assisté dans le siècle précédent à l'Âge d'or du catholicisme québécois mais aussi à son déclin. La Révolution tranquille aura porté un dur coup à l'Église. Devant l'évidence d'un non retour possible en arrière, l'Église essaiera tant bien que mal et sans trop de succès d'emboîter le pas des réformes pour créer de nouveaux liens entre la foi et la culture. Parallèlement des laïcs comme Fernand Dumont offriront par leur implication et leur témoignage un apport important dans la question du renouvellement de la foi. Nous avons essayé d'analyser le parcours théologique de cet homme de foi. Pour ce faire nous avons consacré le premier chapitre aux épistèmes fondamentaux de Dumont. Dans le deuxième, nous avons essayé de faire ressortir les catégories théologiques privilégiées chez Dumont. Après avoir posé un regard intérieur sur sa refonte épistémologique et théologique, nous avons par la suite tenté de situer Dumont dans le temps et dans l'espace. Au troisième chapitre nous nous sommes attardés à la nature de son travail et au caractère paradigmatique de celui-ci pour finalement en arriver à dégager les aménagements possible du travail de Dumont pour la suite de l'évolution de l'Église comme communauté vivante de foi.
