“Que la justicia y la paz fluyan” es
\nel tema del Tiempo ecuménico de la
\nCreación de este año, inspirado en las
\npalabras del profeta Amós: «Que el
\nderecho corra como el agua, y la justicia
\ncomo un torrente inagotable» (5,24).
\nEsta expresiva imagen de Amós nos dice
\nlo que Dios desea. Dios quiere que reine la
\njusticia, que es esencial para nuestra vida
\nde hijos a imagen de Dios, como el agua
\nlo es para nuestra supervivencia física.
\nEsta justicia debe surgir allí donde sea
\nnecesaria, no esconderse demasiado en lo
\nprofundo o desaparecer como el agua que
\nse evapora, antes de podernos sostener.
\nDios quiere que cada uno busque ser justo
\nen cada situación; se esfuerce siempre
\nen vivir según sus leyes y, por tanto, en
\nhacer posible que la vida florezca en
\nplenitud. Cuando buscamos ante todo el
\nreino de Dios (cf. Mt 6,33), manteniendo
\nuna justa relación con Dios, la humanidad
\ny la naturaleza, entonces la justicia y la
\npaz pueden fluir, como una corriente
\ninagotable de agua pura, nutriendo a la
\nhumanidad y a todas las criaturas.
\nEn julio de 2022, en un hermoso día de
\nverano, medité sobre estos argumentos
\ndurante mi peregrinación a las riberas del
\nlago Santa Ana, en la provincia de Alberta,
\nen Canadá. Ese lago ha sido y sigue
\nsiendo un lugar de peregrinación para
\nmuchas generaciones de indígenas...
