Abstract
A colourful progression through 4 seasons on the Grand Valley Trail through the Natchez Hills Woods beside the Grand River in Kitchener, Ontario, featuring scenic landscapes, autumn leaves and spring and fall wildflower close-ups. T hese kame hills of the Breslau Moraine overlook the Grand River. The 39 hectare sugar maple forest has cedar on the wetter east slopes. Home to the Attawandaron, Mississauga, and Six Nations Confederacy, Pennsylvania-Germans began farming after 1822. Kitchener annexed the hills from Waterloo Township in 1973. Ontario's Ministry of Natural Resources identified them as an area of natural and scientific interest. The Grand Valley Trail loops through the Natchez Woods ESPA, connecting with the Walter Bean Grand River Trail.
