Abstract
This book deals with the self-definition of the Society of Jesus in the early modern period. The essays written by Italian historians investigate various aspects of Jesuits self-representation such as their missionary activity (in Latin America, China and elsewhere) and their relation with the “profane”. The essays written by Lithuanian historians contribute to better contextualize Jesuits activity in 16th and 17th century Lithuania. ------------------------Kolektyvinėje monografijoje nagrinėjami Jėzaus draugijos reprezentavimo modeliai nuo draugijos įkūrimo iki uždraudimo, jėzuitų misionieriškasis pašaukimas Kinijoje, Pietų Amerikoje ir Europoje nuo Lietuvos Didžiosios Kunigaikštystės iki ispaniškojo Milano ir jėzuitų požiūriai į mokslų filosofiją.
