Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Up in the north theres a country filled with silent anger and frozen tears. Its called Finland. In its own language, its named swampland. In the short summers the thousands of swamps give birth to enough mosquitoes to feed about a quarter of Europes birds. During the long winter, about eight kilometers of ice cover the swamps and the land. A breed of red pelted dogs roams the evergreens, barking at birds and squirrels if the puppy dropped out of high school and didnt learn what to not to bark at. The people following the dogs will try to shoot the birds, occasionally the squirrels, and occasionally succeed in hitting the target. Depends how drunk he is. That he is drunk is quite a safe assumption, since he is a Finn, and Finnish men are generally drunk. Youd be too if you got covered by mountains of ice every goddamn winter and if the combined winters lasted two thirds of your life.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
